Summer 2006
Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others
Dearest family and friends,
We trust that you have had a good summer with many opportunities to share God’s love and we have many blessings and praises we want to share with you.
In our last letter we asked for money to purchase a truck to use in Juare
z. God answered in a different way by having a 1977 flat-bed pickup truck donated. This will save gas money and wear and tear on Jim’s truck. God has also answered prayer for a 15 passenger van that we recently purchased. Hopefully we’ll have a picture next time we write you.
Jim has been really using his talent these last few months. He has designed and figured all the material for one church, one ministry center, and re-built the model for Dame la Mano’s addition. (The abused women’s shelter) The picture on the right is the mission church of Pastor Tino. Last fall a team from Windsor, CO built the small building on the right side of the picture. (It holds about 40 people) The church grew to 60 and the team returned to frame the building you see on the left of the picture. Some men from El Paso, TX added the electrical and sheetrock. It will hold about 105 people. A man from the congregation wants to install floor tile and the congregation wanted a raised platform so they are saving money to pay for the material. The church is in a new and growing area that the government opened about four years ago. We know God will grow this church and there will be many blessings that will come from within these walls.
Last year Jim and I helped our church mission’s youth group build a home for Pastor Ernesto and his wife, Olga, in Choquita, MX. (See picture below) This year we went with a small team of 11 people to build the biggest project we’ve ever had. It was a 1300 square foot ministry center to be used to teach the leaders of the Tarahumara Indians. (The date on the picture is obviously not correct for those of you who see it, camera goofed) It will accommodate 12 men and 12 women and has three bathrooms for each side. God richly blessed our little group with safety and much endurance and strength. We are excited that God has used our group to help Pastor Ernesto achieve his dream of reaching and pasturing the Tarahumara Indians.
Juanita is doing fine. The doctor said the tumors are shrinking and she’ll need to go for a check up in three months. We are praising God that the medicine is working. Pastor Tino has been diagnosed with diabetes so he needs prayer for the changes that will come in his life.
Jim and I are doing well. Our health has been very good and we praise God for that. We extend our sincere thanks to our faithful prayer and financial supporters. It seems our ministry is always growing and we are looking to see where God will lead us.
Many Blessings to each of you,
Jim & Barb
